Corner radius is a critical topic when producing sliders and pins. If the radius on the slider is too big, the pin won't fit, and vice versa.
With its increased accuracy over the standard U3, the U3i includes a new corner control function dedicated to fine-tuning the operations to achieve excellent straightness at the corners.

U3 H.E.A.T.
The Makino U3 H.E.A.T. (High Energy Applied Technology) configuration contains enhancements to the flushing and filtration system that dramatically increase cutting speed, especially in poor flush applications, while maintaining part straightness and accuracy. The U3 H.E.A.T. harnesses the raw horsepower from its larger capacity, independent, dual-flushing pumps to deliver higher pressure and a higher volume of flushing to machining to reduce rough cut cycle times. The machine also comes as standard with a larger capacity (4) filter filtration system to accommodate the higher capacity flushing capability.
The U3 H.E.A.T. utilises a split-V wire guide system that requires less maintenance and lasts 34 times longer than traditional round wire guides. Machine maintenance and consumables’ wear are also less than with traditional designs, which delivers greater productivity while reducing operational costs. The (4) di-electric filters are housed in a non-submerged cabinet with an integrated filter air-purge function that evacuates the water from the filters before exchanging, thus reducing the weight of the spent filter and preventing the traditional dirty wet-slip hazards normally encountered with filter replacement.
