Precision and flexibility for production efficiency and effectiveness

Kirchheim unter Teck, Germany, 23 September 2025 |

In a rapidly changing geopolitical situation, flexibility and quick response become existentially important for Europe’s production industry. Visitors to EMO 2025 can experience first-hand how Makino’s latest machining and automation solutions can transform their business. Under the banner of “Precision is our nature”, Makino’s EMO participation will demonstrate the company’s commitment to innovative precision in its technologies and production solutions.

State-of-the-art machines – unmatched user benefits

Makino will be using EMO 2025 as a platform to present five of its most advanced machines, including one global and one European premiere. What all these machines have in common is a clear orientation to unmatched user benefits, as detailed below.
State-of-the-art machines – unmatched user benefits

Setting new standards in machining and sinker EDM operations

  • Global premiere of a630iT with new kinematics and a new controller: This 5-axis horizontal machining centre features a unique trunnion table offering exceptional workpiece accessibility from all angles. This enables users to machine even the most complex parts with fewer set-ups – and that drastically reduces throughput time and improves overall precision levels. The a630iT is also equipped with the new Professional 7 NC controller based on Fanuc’s FS500-iA, which significantly boosts block processing power and make operators’ day-for-day operations easier and more intuitive. They can now monitor entire automated cells from a single machine, thus streamlining workflows and enabling a more efficient user of the operator’s time. This unmatched combination of technological innovation and intelligent control makes the a630iT ideal for the complex processing of hard materials and seamless integration into automated production environments.

  • European premiere of f6 – revolutionising 3-axis vertical machining through long-lasting precision: The f6, Makino’s latest 3-axis vertical machining centre, delivers new levels of long-term precision without sacrificing the well-known flexibility of the Makino f-series. The f6 offers die and mould producers the transformative opportunity to combine roughing and finishing operations on a single machine. This not only ensures repeatable, high-precision results for even the most demanding applications but also delivers long-term accuracy and greater reliability in automated production. You completely ignore the squareness (Y-stroke) advantage!!

  • DA500 with a pallet magazine – autonomous production of complex parts with turning capability: Manufacturers who produce complex parts that need both milling and turning and require completely unattended machine operations should take a closer look at Makino’s DA500. Designed for autonomous, flexible production, this 5-axis vertical machining centre now features a 4- to 8-pallet pool system and integrated turning capability. This will enable users to implement continuous, lights-out manufacturing that will significantly raise productivity and reduce labour costs.

  • a500iR – unmatched material removal rates for aerostructure components: Designed to address the precise requirements of aerostructure component machining, the a500iR now features a powerful new 24,000 rpm spindle. This new 60kW spindle ensures the best possible materials removal rates for complex small- to medium-sized parts – particularly in demanding aerospace and semiconductor applications.

  • EDGE3i – precision sinker EDM with compact footprint: The EDGE3i is the ideal machine for new customers to benefit from Makino’s advanced EDM technology. Equipped with the intuitive Hyper-i controller and a user-friendly touchscreen interface, this sinker EDM empowers users to easily achieve highly accurate results – even where floor space is limited.

To see all these machines in action and find out more about how your business will benefit from them, visit the Makino booth (Hall 12, C31) at EMO 2025 (September 22-26).
